Children’s Commissioner Anne Longfield said:
“The number of child sex abuse images detected by the Internet Watchdog Foundation (IWF) is shocking and reinforces the need for continuing work to tackle this damaging crime which causes immense physical and psychological harm to its child victims.
“The IWF should be applauded for their work to detect images but we should not be complacent. Parents, carers and professionals must work together to make sure all victims of child sexual abuse get the support they need to move on from their experiences and any perpetrators must be brought to justice.”
