The following is a written response by the Children’s Commissioner’s office (CCo) to The Jay Review of Child Criminal Exploitation, launched by Action for Children and chaired by Professor Alexis Jay OBE.
The Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza, has a statutory independent role to protect and promote the rights of children in England and for children around the UK on issues reserved for the UK Parliament, with particular regard for children living away from home or receiving children’s social care.
Her priority is to bring the views and interests of children to the heart of Government.
