Anne Longfield responds to research for BBC School Report on children’s mental health
Commenting on figures from the ONS revealing that more than two-thirds of children in poverty in the UK live in working families, Children’s Commissioner for England, Anne Longfield said:
“These very troubling figures show tackling child poverty is more important than ever.
“Behind every statistic is a child living a life in poverty, with all the negative consequences that can have for their health and their future life chances.
“Our ambition as a country must be to do much more to make sure all children have the support and opportunities they need to flourish.”
