Children’s Commissioner’s Digital Taskforce developing new ways of helping children manage their time online

Internet overload has led millions of people in the UK to take a “digital detox”, according to research from regulator Ofcom.

The digital world opens up unbelievable opportunities for children and young people which they are seizing and making the most of like never before. These new statistics show the huge impact on children of online activity.

Whilst embracing all of the positive aspects that screens can bring, as adults we also need to do all we can to understand the pressure 24-hour communication can put children under. That’s why my digital task force is developing new ways of helping children manage their time online and my new parenting expert group will give advice to parents on how to help their children get the balance they need on and offline.
