Latest data on the overall levels of vulnerability and need among children and young people in England.
About this data
This data shows the overall levels of vulnerability and need among children and young people in England, published in our 2019 Vulnerability Report.
We’ve spoken with children and young people, as well as organisations who work with children, to help us choose which groups to include here and how to describe them. This has led to a list of 72 groups which highlight concerns about the risk to the wellbeing and welfare of children.
We’re using this data to give us a single, comprehensive snapshot of all the information we know today about vulnerable children in England. This will help us better understand where there are gaps in the data and enable us to compare each of the groups or look for any which overlap, to enable new assessment of overall levels of vulnerability. For some groups, we can also show local and regional levels of vulnerability.
The data shown here is a living framework which we will continue to improve and adapt over time, including adding future vulnerable groups which we have identified, and providing more local and regional data.
