Our lives can be like a rollercoaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torment or the greatest opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We get given transience when all we want is stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This artificial family could mean belonging,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could mean insecurity \u2013 we remain unaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resilience is the buzzword in the lottery of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding safety in new roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding trust in new life\u2019s branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what happens when the bough breaks?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where does the cradle fall?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many eyes but nobody sees<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The externally monitored remain invisible internally<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blind and blinkered for red tape and dotted lines<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can\u2019t spy the forest for the trees \u2013 too many unaware<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overcrowding gets you lost in the lottery of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stigma predicts failure<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vulture-like she circles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expectant of damage and inability \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What news for our equality?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope. We demand. We strive<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That you see past our vulnerability,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See beyond old case notes, scrawled files \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must be aware<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals we remain in the lottery of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we stand. We stand together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not numbers in the bingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not scratched out gamblers\u2019 cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our lives are not a lottery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Care is no betting game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember our humanity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And see all people free from shame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
