Share your views on child protection

Munro Review

The Government has asked Eileen Munro to help improve the way children and young people are protected from harm. She has asked us in the Children's Commissioner's office to gather the views of children and young people so that they can have a say.

1. What is this review about?

It's about improving the way social workers and other professionals help to protect children and young people from harm. We want to know what children and young people think helped them when they were not safe and what might work best for other children. People who work with children and young people will also be asked for their views too.

2. Why is what I think important?

This work is about making sure that when social workers try to help, they do this as well as they can, always trying to make the best decisions for children and young people. It is really important that your thoughts are included because you know best what helps and what does not help.

3. How do I give my views?

The formal call for evidence to the Munro review is now closed.

Between 2 and 30 July we collected children and young people's views on behalf of the Munro Review team which is based in the Department for Education. While the formal deadline has now passed, we will continue to ensure that any contributions from children are passed on to the team and will leave the questions posed by the Review team on this website until 16 August.

We have set up a Freephone number for young people to use if they want to talk to us about the Review. It is 0800 111 4338.

In addition to collecting evidence for the Munro Review Team, the Office of the Children's Commissioner is also preparing its own submission and we will be glad to hear the views of children or adults working with them on the issues that the Review is looking into.

We will not ask for your name and the information we pass on to Eileen Munro will be completely anonymous.
